March Anews

Dear Alverno College Alumnae,

First, let us introduce ourselves:  Abigail Sherman, environmental science major, and Emily Miller, chemistry major. We are both juniors graduating next spring. This semester, we have been privileged to work on-campus as interns for the A.C.T.S. (Alverno Commits to Sustainability) committee. In recognition of the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day, we have planned several activities and events on campus.

So how do you fit in to all of this? We are inviting you to participate in a panel discussion to highlight your work experiences and how sustainability relates to your current career. The goal of this event is to provide current Alverno women insight into career possibilities related to sustainability and how their degrees could potentially translate into a career in this field.

This event will be taking place on Friday, April 23, 2010 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. at Alverno College. More details will be provided to the chosen panelists.

If you would like to participate in this event, please contact Abigail or Emily with the following information:

  • Name
  • Year of graduation from Alverno
  • Area of study
  • Current job/relevant work experience
  • Brief summary of how sustainability is part of your chosen career

We would like to include women of ALL professions and backgrounds (not just environmental science majors) to be on the panel. This event will be the culmination of all of our hard work this semester and your participation is vital in making this event a success. We can't wait to hear all of your stories!
