The Research Center, building upon the exceptional work of the Alverno College Research Center on Women (1970-80) and the Alverno College Research Center on Women Interest Group (1981-present), generates and applies research for the purpose of inspiring, transforming, and supporting initiatives to improve the lives of women and girls in the state of Wisconsin and beyond. The Research Center team produces research publications and school curricula that affect women and girls in school, in the workplace, and in society at large. The Research Center intends that its research be used by educators, community organizations, businesses, and government officials to raise awareness, identify solutions, change attitudes and practices, and develop public policy, both locally and nationally. The Research Center is located at the north end of Clare Hall on the first floor.
