This past April, Alumnae in Training hosted another successful Miss Alverno Pageant. The Miss Alverno Pageant is an event like none other. Participants put their Alverno Abilities into action to compete in five categories: Casual Wear, Interview, Talent, Candidate's Choice, and Formal Wear. Participants gain experience speaking in front of a crowd, get to help out an organization they care about, and show how they are preparing to become an active Alverno Alum.
We had a great panel of alumnae judges - Alum Board judge Rebecca Rick '04, staff judge Nancy Athanasiou '90, and community member Caitlin Morrall '08 - who all agreed that BriAnna encompassed the qualities of Alverno.
This month's Alumnae Spotlight story is from the online magazine.
Alverno Professor Donna Engleman often says, "There are many paths up the mountain," and that has been a mantra for Sarah Miller '93 for much of her college and professional life. "It's a constant reminder that there are multiple ways to look at and solve a problem," explains Miller. Click here to read the entire story.

Alverno Professor of Philosophy Amy Shapiro Book Signing Event - TONIGHT!
Saturday, May 11, 2013
Join fellow Alverno alumnae for a delicious and educational "Churches & Chocolates" tour through the City of Steeples - Milwaukee. In between delicious stops at two local chocolatiers for behind-the-scenes insight, shopping and sampling, we visit three local churches, such as St. James Episcopal, Grace Lutheran, and St. Joseph's Chapel, to learn about the history and architecture of these unique places of worship. Each church includes a docent led tour. Tour includes chocolate treats, shopping time, docent led church tours, a guided city tour via bus, plus donations are provided to each church. We have a few spaces left - call 414-382-6090 to register.
