Effective Citizenship

"Civic responsibility involves direct, meaningful participation in public life and includes political engagement as well as many other types of public activity."

Effective Citizenship as defined at Alverno College "develops the student's capacity to feel socially responsible to her community and to take corresponding action to support its assets and to deal with its concerns."
(2005). Ability-based learning outcomes, p. 51.
