ART AT ALVERNO COLLEGE
IS NOT JUST BUSINESS AS USUAL.
While you will experience top quality training in a variety of studio areas foundational to the art discipline, the differences between our programs and other schools are significant.
Art Courses are designed to guide students in making art from the perspective of their future careers. You will learn not only about studio art, but how educators, studio artists, and those who use visual art therapeutically across cultures have differing creative concerns.
Art Course sequences are flexible and responsive to student interests, supporting intensive study in areas identified by the student at advanced levels. From Graphic Design, Animation, and iMovie to Encaustic Painting, Artists Books, or Art Therapy students select from a menu of regularly updated and relevant learning experiences.
Art Sequences are developmental, allowing each student to continuously build upon a solid foundation. Whether the focus is Education, Studio, or Therapeutic Art students experience developmental content in foundations and electives courses, the history of art and cultures, and professional ethics and methods.
ART AT ALVERNO IS GLOBAL IN FOCUS: ALL ART MAJORS ARE ENCOURAGED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE MANY INTERNATIONAL STUDY OPPORTUNITIES.
