Resources for the Community

When it's time to re-assess your career path, Alverno College can help with our Making Alternative Plans (MAP) program: a comprehensive 3-part, one-on-one career counseling program.

Since 1980, MAP has helped thousands of women and men develop career plans suited to their unique situations. Let us assist you in your planning and preparation to successfully:

  • Re-enter the workforce
  • Analyze new vocational options related to your current career
  • Change your career direction
  • Learn job-seeking skills

MAP is tailored to meet your specific needs. The program combines self-directed research and one-on-one meetings with a career specialist. It includes:

  • Three 90-minute one-on-one sessions with your career specialist
  • Strong Interest Inventory feedback
  • One year's use of Alverno's Career Lab, a career resource center
  • A comprehensive workbook
MAP Pricing
The cost for the full MAP program with all the benefits listed above is $225. Payment may be made by cash, check, Visa or MasterCard.

Targeted single sessions are also available. You may schedule appointments focusing on:

  • Strong Interest Inventory feedback
  • Resume instruction and critique
  • Interview preparation
  • Videotaped interview practice

Single session appointments are reasonably priced at only $85 per session.

Career Lab memberships are also available in one day, three month, and six month increments.

These services are available at no cost to Alverno students and alumnae who have graduated within the past two years, and at reduced prices to all other alumnae.
