This pre-assessment is designed to check your knowledge of the Navigation section of Basic Technology Skills Module. The main outcome for the Navigation section is:
Effectively navigate a computer desktop, including starting programs, using files, folders, windows, and basic control panel settings.
This outcome includes information on the following:

  • What is a computer?
  • What is system software?
  • What is the desktop?
  • What is file organization?
  • What is the Help Menu

If you think you have a solid knowledge of these items, click the link below to begin the pre-assessment. As you take the Pre-assessment, make sure you keep track of right and wrong answers. When you finish, you will be returned to this page.
