Before you begin any of the modules, be sure that the computer you are using has the following things. If you have any problems, consult a help desk person in the TLTC computer lab.

To return to the Computer Information Literacy Home Page --- click on the CIL@AC logo in the upper right corner - this will be your link to the home page from any page in the site!

To go to the Educator site --- click on the UCompass Logo on the left

• Browser - You'll need at least Netscape 4.0 or Internet Explorer 4.0 for all this nifty stuff. You are currently using Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6 on a Windows machine.
• Links - Links are the main feature of the web. They allow you to click and go to other web pages. How to identify Links
• Cookies - Your browser must accept cookies, which (in the computer world) are pieces of information sent between your computer and ours to make this a more personal experience. More about Cookies
• Plug-ins - In order to get the full effect of the tutorials, you will need several plug-ins. Most browsers currently include these plug-ins. You will need the following plug-ins:
  • Acrobat Reader
  • Shockwave
  • Real Player
