What Help Can I Receive in the Computer Center?
Student lab assistants are available in the Computer Center to
provide basic technical support. You can expect lab assistants to:
- help you learn how to log in and out of the network
- help you learn how to perform basic disk operations (USB flash drive, CD, Zip disk, floppy)
- help you become familiar with the basics of word processing in
Microsoft Word
- help you solve printing problems (clear paper jams, cancel
a print job, fix toner cartridge)
- help you locate software you need to use for a class
- assist you in using the Help feature on a program you are not familiar with
The Computer Center staff expects you to:
- remember your network password
- save your documents frequently
- make a backup copy of all important files
- bring removable media with you (If you forget your media, you will need to purchase one in the bookstore)
If you need help doing research for a class and/or formulating a good
search strategy, feel free to go to the library's reference desk.
