What are the types of information sources?
Information can come from virtually anywhere -- personal experiences, television and movies, books, expert opinions, the Web, etc….. and the type of information you need will also change depending on the question you are trying to answer at a certain time. Look at the following sources of information below. Notice the similarities between them and keep in mind the following three questions:
- Which of these sources could I find online?
- Which of these sources is useful for guiding me to other sources on a given topic?
- Which of these sources would I use when writing a research paper?
