Selecting Your Topic

So you need to do a research paper…Don’t panic! This section will explain the steps for conducting research and will offer some good research strategies.

At the outset, it’s important to understand what research is.

RESEARCH: the diligent, thorough inquiry and investigation into a subject that requires time and effort on the part of the researcher.

Research begins with selecting a topic.

Choosing a topic you are interested in or want to learn more about can make doing research more enjoyable.

You could start with a very broad topic, for example, marketing. However, you would find way too much information on this subject--enough to write several books!
