Carole Barrowman, Associate Professor
of English
An avid writer, Carole has written screenplays, novels, mystery
fiction, and newpaper articles. Carole teaches courses in British
literature, world literature, especially Latin American, and
creative writing.

Mimi Czarnik, Associate Professor
of English
Mimi's teaching ranges from advanced courses in 19th and 20th
century British Literature to beginning and intermediate courses
in children's literature and film studies. She has published
an article on the use of studio arts strategies in humanities
courses and presents workshops and lectures for graduate students
preparing to teach English. Mimi lives on the south side of Milwaukee
with her husband, Michael, and three children.

Jonathan Little, Associated Professor
of English
Jonathan has published a book on writer Charles Johnson and currently
is working on a new book on writer and poet Louise Erdrich. The
Coordinator of the English Department, Jon teaches courses in
American Literature, including an advanced course on the Harlem
Renaissance. In his free time he enjoys creative writing, playing
tennis, and riding bikes and rollerblading with his two sons.

Bob's teaching and research interests include African-American
literature and culture, poetry, American studies, contemporary
literature and multiculturalism, writing, teaching and learning
with technology. He has published articles on Langston Hughes
and Leslie Marmon Silko and presents workshops on communication
and technology across the country. Bob coordinates the Communication
courses at Alverno.
