Educational Research and Evaluation Goals

Contribute to continually refining Alverno's educational frameworks, assumptions, principles, and practices.

Initiate and maintain research and evaluation as a concept and function at Alverno.

Foster college-wide scholarship in innovative teaching, learning and assessment.

Research and evaluate the value, impact, validity, and effectiveness of the curriculum (including performance assessment) in relation to student and alumna outcomes, outstanding professionals who are not Alverno alumnae, disciplinary, professional, and accreditation standards, and pictures of human potential drawn from a range of theoretical frameworks in human abilities, learning, development, and performance.

Contribute to creating more generalizable models of adult abilities, learning, development, and performance in college and beyond.

Create effective, diverse modes of inquiry for reflecting on practice, for gathering, interpreting, and using information, and for demonstrating scholarship in teaching and learning.

Contribute to program, student, and faculty development.

Collaborate in ensuring the quality of various research and evaluation activities within the college.

Establish Alverno as an accountable educational institution in the local/professional community.
