Alverno College students interested in history have a number of program options. Students who see their studies as preparation for graduate school are advised to do a History major with two support areas (minors) in disciplines they believe most valuable for their advanced degree work. Students who intend to teach history at the high school level will major in Social Studies/History with a support in Education. Students who will teach at the elementary or middle school level will major in Education with a support in Social Studies. Students may also choose to do a support in History. Be sure to talk to your history faculty adviser to determine which program is right for you.
