Location & Directions
The Alverno College Library is located in the Liberal Arts Building at
3401 South 39th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53215.

Use the entrance to the building under the church steeple. Once you enter the building, go up the half flight of stairs on your left or right, then turn to your right and follow the hallway. The entrance to the library is at the end of the hallway. See below for the accessible entrance to the library.

Directions

     From Chicago: Take I-94 north to Milwaukee. Take Howard/Holt Avenue exit. Exit on Holt and go west (left). Holt becomes Morgan Avenue. Continue going west to 39th Street (2.3 miles). Turn right on 39th Street and continue for one-half block.

From Green Bay: Take I-43 south to Milwaukee. Follow I-94 toward Chicago. Exit on Holt Avenue, go west (right). Holt becomes Morgan Ave. Continue going west to 39th Street (2.3 miles). Turn right on 39th Street and continue for one-half block.

From Madison: Take I-94 east to Milwaukee. Merge onto Miller Park Way (south). Miller Park Way becomes 43rd Street. Continue south on 43rd Street to Morgan Ave (about 3 miles from I-94). Turn left onto Morgan Ave. Turn left onto 39th Street and continue for one-half block.

From Mitchell International Airport: Take the Downtown Milwaukee exit and go north on I-94. Take the Howard/Holt Avenue exit. Exit on Holt and go west (left). Holt becomes Morgan Avenue. Continue going west to 39th Street (2.3 miles). Turn right on 39th Street and continue for one-half block.

Parking

     See the Alverno College Campus Map for parking options on campus. The library is located in the Liberal Arts Building, number 4 on the map. Public parking is available in lots E and F.

Street parking is also available:
  • Unrestricted daytime parking on the west side of 39th Street (north of Holt Ave and south of Ohio Ave).
  • Unrestricted daytime parking on the north side of Holt Ave (one block north of Morgan between 37th and 39th Streets).
  • Two-hour parking Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm on school days, on the east side of 39th Street between Morgan Ave and Holt Ave.

Accessible Entrance

     For accessible entrance to the library (with no stairs):
  • Enter the Pitman Theatre building through the accessible entrance on the south side of the building off of Parking Lot E.
  • Turn to your left and proceed through the lobby of the Theater.
  • Turn to your left again and proceed down the hallway.
  • Turn at the next entrance on the right to enter the Liberal Arts (LA) building and follow the hallway to the lobby of the LA building.
  • Use the elevator on the north wall to get to the second floor.
  • Turn to your left when you exit the elevator, then turn to your left again and follow the hallway to the end where you will find the entrance to the library.
  • Please ring the bell at the library entrance for assistance in opening the door.
