The ARTFL Project from the University of Chicago, and Micra, Inc. present
this online version of Roget's Thesaurus. The site provides access

This easy-to-read guide from Dartmouth College divides its site into

- Google Scholar
A subset of Google, Google Scholar provides access to scholarly journal citations from a wide range of
subject areas, with the strongest coverage in science & technology. Google Scholar is not valued as a
repository for free full text articles, because many items are not available in full text. The real
value of this site is its citation index – a handy research tool that allows users to easily establish
which documents cite a particular research article. It is an excellent tool for verifying citations and
locating similar articles. To access the citation index, look for the “cited by” link.

site offers a wealth of information explaining how different things
work. Learn anything from how a cell phone or an air conditioner works

Public Agenda was founded in 1975 and is a “nonpartisan opinion research and civic engagement organization helping Americans explore and understand critical issues.” The Web site contains much original research that is well organized and easy to navigate. Public Agenda’s reports provide important additional research material for both students and faculty on a broad range of topics in the social sciences.
