Class Expectations: You are expected to come to each laboratory session prepared to conduct experiments with minimal instructions. To ensure that the exercises are read beforehand, you will need to prepare a concept map (flowchart) or short summary stating the purpose of this laboratory exercise, what materials you will be using, and what results you expect. This sumary should be 1-3 paragraphs, typed or handwritten. The summary will be collected at the beginning of class time If you do not have your summary prepared, you will be asked to prepare before beginning the next laboratory experiment.
Laboratory Exercise Reports: In the back of your laboratory manual are lab reports that correspond to the lab exercises. Answer all of the questions corresponding to the conducted laboratory exercises in the laboratory manual to the best of your ability. These reports need to be handed in no later than 1 week after the results have been obtained for the experiment. It is yur responsibility to keep up with due dates. Investigative Study: In the last few weeks of the semester you and a partner will be asked to conduct an investigative study working with your organism, your partner's organism, or both organisms. The nature of the study will be decided upon by you and your partner with the instructor's approval.
